Call Forwarding Instructions for Landlines

These instructions work for the vast majority of landlines, but there is the occasional exception:

Enabling Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the handset for dial-tone, then press *72.
  2. Enter the number you would like calls forwarded to, followed by #.
  3. An automatic announcement will confirm your call forwarding destination.

Disabling Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the handset for dial-tone, then press *73.
  2. An automatic announcement will confirm that Call Forward Always has been disabled.

Call Forwarding Instructions for Popular Cell Phone Networks

Below are call forwarding instructions for major U.S. and Canadian cell phone providers.

AT&T / T-Mobile

Unconditional Call Forwarding
  1. Dial **21* followed by the virtual phone number and #.
  2. Press the call button.
  3. Wait for confirmation.
Conditional Call Forwarding
  • Busy: Dial **67* followed by the virtual phone number and #.
  • No Answer: Dial **61* followed by the virtual phone number and #.

Verizon

Unconditional Call Forwarding
  1. Dial *72 followed by the virtual phone number.
  2. Press the call button.
  3. Wait for confirmation tone or message.
  4. Hang up.
Conditional Call Forwarding
  • Busy: Dial *90 followed by the virtual phone number, then press call.
  • No Answer: Dial *92 followed by the virtual phone number, then press call.

Sprint

Unconditional Call Forwarding
  1. Dial *72 followed by the virtual phone number.
  2. Press the call button.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone, then hang up.
Conditional Call Forwarding
  • Busy: Dial *74 followed by the virtual phone number.
  • No Answer: Dial *73 followed by the virtual phone number.

Canadian Carriers (Bell, Rogers, Telus, Fido, Freedom Mobile)

Unconditional Call Forwarding
  1. Dial *21* followed by the virtual phone number and #.
  2. Press the call button.
  3. Wait for confirmation.
Conditional Call Forwarding
  • Busy: Dial *67* followed by the virtual phone number and #.
  • No Answer: Dial *61* followed by the virtual phone number and #.
  • Unavailable (No Signal): Dial *62* followed by the virtual phone number and #.

Unconditional Call Forwarding
  1. Click your profile picture at the top left.
  2. Go to Call Rules.
  3. Enable the Forward All Calls toggle.
  4. Click Save.
Conditional Call Forwarding
  1. Click your profile picture and go to Call Rules.
  2. Select Add Schedule and configure the date/time for call forwarding.
  3. Click Save.

OpenPhone

Unconditional Call Forwarding
  1. Click Settings in the left-hand menu.
  2. Under Workspace, select Phone Numbers.
  3. Choose the phone number you want to forward calls from and enable Forward all calls under Call Flow.
  4. Enter the forwarding number and click Forward.
Conditional Call Forwarding
  1. Go to SettingsPhone Numbers.
  2. For forwarding calls outside business hours, navigate to Call Flow settings and select Business Hours.
  3. Under Outside Business Hours, enter the phone number where calls should be forwarded.
  4. For handling unanswered calls, scroll to the Unanswered Calls section and select Forward to another number.

Grasshopper

  1. Log into your Grasshopper account.
  2. Go to SettingsCall Forwarding SettingsExtensions.
  3. Find the number or extension you want to forward calls from and click Edit.
  4. Enter the forwarding number (mobile, landline, or voicemail).
  5. Choose how calls should be handled, such as announcing the call before answering.
  6. Set a time frame for forwarding (e.g., 24/7, weekends, or a custom schedule).
  7. Click Save and test the setup to ensure calls are forwarded correctly.
